Jill Herz
Attorney at Law, P.C.

Expertise. Persistence. Compassion.

Jill's first career was in architecture. At the time, she was the only woman in her architecture firm. After working on projects from DART stations to the DFW Airport International Terminal, she wanted to move on to something bigger, so she went back to school to become a lawyer. After law school, all of her classmates were getting jobs at big, established firms. But Jill moved in a different direction.

In 1993, with no reputation and little money, she opened up a small office in the middle of downtown Dallas. Initially, she focused on working premises liability and construction cases, where she could apply her vast architecture and engineering expertise. Unexpectedly, a constant flow of car crash cases came in, clients sick of fighting insurers to pay their medical bills. Here Jill found her calling, and after 25 years, she is known to judges, attorneys, and insurance companies as the "Queen of Car Wrecks." It doesn't seem like a glamorous title, but Jill and her firm take great pride in helping injured plaintiffs get their lives together after accidents. Driving around Dallas highways, you can find several of her billboards brazenly stating "Car Wrecks Suck."

Jill Herz

Jill started her work in architecture, but soon moved into the world of law in 1993, building a significant reputation among lawyers, insurance companies, and clients as a fearless trial lawyer. She does not bluff when she threatens insurers with a court date: the Dallas District Courthouse is practically her second courthouse. Jill is known to recover far-from-average rewards for her injured clients, refusing to settle for unfair amounts. Not only famous for her cases and results, Jill Herz transformed the personal injury landscape when she became the first lawyer in Texas to sue for Gross Negligence when defendants' cell phone use caused a car wreck. Additionally, Jill's colleagues have recommended that she receive a rating of AV Preeminent from Martindale-Hubbell, a service for lawyers to review other lawyers.
